Exceptional Abilities

TBRI-Informed Home for Children

Our Mission

Two children, a boy and a girl, sitting on the floor against a yellow background. The boy is looking down and tying his shoes, wearing a black T-shirt with the text "Ask me what I do". The girl is smiling, wearing a black T-shirt with the text "ask me what I do" and colorful fluffy shoes, with a white bow in her hair.

Exceptional Abilities provides a safe, nurturing environment for children removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Our mission is to offer stability, healing, and hope, ensuring they receive the care, resources, and guidance needed to rebuild their lives. Through compassionate support, education, and therapy, we help children overcome trauma and gain confidence. Working closely with social workers, foster families, and the community, we create a protective network, giving every child the opportunity for a brighter future.

TBRI is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI is connection.

“Thank you to Megan and Jerry Hughes Family for their generous contribution to Exceptional Ability Children Shelter! It’s individuals like you all, that make this world a better place”
